I think Nick AKA Monkey man has fallen from grace and hit the bottle, after we send him to AA he will be back. Just a joke.

:( when a personality like MM who spent his LIFE on this forum disappears, it is likely health (somatic or other) related. Last time we spoke via phone, somebody had made him feel unwelcome. The question being, did his state of health have anything to do with his interpretation of the interaction????

I miss you too MM. May this find you in health, happiness, inspiration, creativity and prosperity.

Well whoever it was, they did a good job. I certainly hope I didn't say anything to upset the guy. We used to spar from time to time, but it was all in good fun. I don't think he took any of that seriously.

I heard through the grapevine that someone had been very harsh with Monkeyman and pretty much suggested that he should stop coming around here anymore. I don't know any details or who was involved in that argument, but I know that MM is a sensitive guy and probably took it pretty seriously. And perhaps his health got worse in connection with that event.

Hopefully we'll see him again one of these days. If he's alive and kicking he can't stay away forever. He has friends here. :-)

Sorry to hear that. The last time this was mentioned, I thought it was in reference to family back in Oz, that sort of thing. I didn't know it was forum-related.

I've sent him a couple of personal emails recently (not via this board) and they didn't bounce. But he didn't answer. On the chance that he is just not answering maybe a flood of emails might get him to reply?

That would require giving out his personal email address, which might not be such a good idea.

MM and I have traded emails in the past, and I've also sent some to him which didn't get a reply. Like yours, mine didn't bounce, but that doesn't mean he's received them or read them. It is very strange.

It's too bad that the email notification for private messages doesn't seem to work. That would be a better way to contact him, assuming that the forwarding address in his profile is still current.

I remember who was involved, and it was uncalled for. Hopefully he didn't let that petty crap get to him. It's not worth it.

I hope I am not out of line commenting on this but some posts here I feel have been disrespectful and out of line with the topic being discussed.
This is addressed to Twisted Tom:we have been discussing a friend who has been having difficult times that has been in some kind of obvious pain and I feel instead of contributing to a meaningful discussion about reaching out to a friend in need you keep contributing with posts that I feel have no place in this thread.
What exactly is your point or agenda for these posts and how is this relevant to the discussion at hand?
Joking around is OK but I think sometimes the discussion needs to have some relevance or sensitivity to the actual topic. :?
just my 2 cents

I know at one time MM was talking about being close to some wild fires that we're blazing away down there.
All we can do is speculate and hope that there was nothing tragic.

The fires that made such tragic headlines a couple of years ago missed him, but got people he knew, including a girl that was once very close to him. I can't say for sure, but she may have once been his girlfriend, someone he had once been serious about. In any case, they had not seen each other in a while, but he had taken the news of her death very, very hard. It was after that when I noticed a change in his posting habits here, and things seemed to deteriorate. Then there were family problems (there were always family problems), and something happened, after which we just didn't see him anymore.

We can only hope for the best. Some of us have sent things to Nicky in the past, so I have what was once his address, but I'm pretty sure he's moved since then. I suppose I could send a letter, but unless whoever lives there now can forward it to him, I don't think it would reach him.

I'm afraid we must wait until Nicky decides to find us again. I'd sure like to know if he's been achieving any of the music he'd dreamed about, since purchasing his Mac Pro.

Don't forget he didn't have DSL where he lived.
If he moved he may have lost his connection all together.
He'll be back full bandwidth.
