Voice Doubler in DP7.1???
Does Dp7 have a voice doubler or a special technique to do so? I know Anteres has something like that as a plugin so if DP has it I won't have to get the Anteres one. Thanks.

There's a free double-tracking plugin here (donation is voluntary):

There's also a free plate reverb, too, that many people have liked.

Depending upon the circumstances, I sometimes use a short delay or a chorus effect to "double" a track. This can be even more effective if the original track and it's fake double are EQ'd differently.
The leading cause of wrong answers is asking the wrong questions.

I use it on most of solo voices.
Very effective and very easy to tweak to taste.

I like the idea of emulating the use of a second tape deck for doubling. I'm going to have to try this plug-in.daniel.sneed wrote:+1 on ADT.mikebeckmotu wrote:There's a free double-tracking plugin here (donation is voluntary):

Re: Voice Doubler in DP7.1???
Just sing it twice... The Beatles could get away with that because they had great voices and could sing the same passages consistently... otherwise, it sounds like two tracks that sound out IMO. Some voices really work well for that variable formant and others it throws it out of tune. I wouldn't rely on a plugin to do double tracking (that sounds good) because that is a technique that deals with performance and the type and quality of the voice to begin with.
I'd duplicate the track and add a timeline like a Lexicon PCM 42 that can modulate well and use a random waveform for the modulation source and use the minimum amount of scaling for the modulation to the delay time. I don't trust what others think a double tracked technique should sound like because every application, and vox is so different. There's no such thing as a "plugin" that can emulate a technique like that... sure, you can have a "cheese" effect but if you going for the real deal the only way to get it is with a great singer using great techniques. DT is an art form in itself IMO.
