Track Folder Controls
They tell us we now have controls on folder tracks to mute, solo, play, etc ... like Cubase had many years ago. I am very pleased to hear about his. I can't find any documentation of how to make this work.

Re: Track Folder Controls
It won't be in the manual, but there should be a new features PDF somewhere. I don't know where the installer installs it. Anyone?

Re: Track Folder Controls
Errr ... No, it's not there. (If you can't say anything nice or helpful, please say nothing).
Everywhere I look, all I find is references to the existence of these features. I find no details on how to implement them. In the Track view (only) I find I can play-enable or not, tracks in a folder. That's all I can find.

Well, it must be somewhere...
In the DP instal disk?
Or in the DP7.1 update image you downloaded? ("What's new").
Or in the Application support folder in OS?
I thought it would be under the Help menu in DP7.1

Re: Track Folder Controls
No, it doesn't have to be "somewhere".
In my ancient past, I worked in the electronic/software engineering biz, in its very early times. Something that has not changed at all since those times is the rush to market. I am not at all surprised if a "feature" is released without anyone seeing to it that it's documented.

Re: Track Folder Controls
Hello forum,
The only thing I'm coming up with from the "help" menu is.... Select "Show all results" and double click on "Tracks Window". At the very bottom is some very little info. That's not it, is it?

Re: Track Folder Controls
Hmmm... maybe they're not there. However, since we're all familiar with what those controls do on a single track, it seems pretty self-explanatory. Click the enable/disable button, all the tracks within the folder are enabled/disabled. Same thing with the play button. I think it's too bad there's no formal documentation, but looks pretty obvious however.

Re: Track Folder Controls
Maybe this feature can join the ranks of the similarly-undocumented "Buffy" plug-in.
I installed DP 7.1 this past weekend but haven't used it yet. I was so hoping this new feature would be well-documented, but I suppose exploring it through direct use is the best way... on a project with a safety backup.

Re: Track Folder Controls
The new features for 7.1 are in the Help menu under 'New Features for Digital Performer 7' (at least in my copy of DP). The first 8 pages are dedicated to 7.1 while the other 21 pages outline the rest of the DP 7.xx features. It's now part of the application file. For those of you familiar with the .app file structure, it's under .../Resources/English.lproj/Digital Performer Help/pdfs.

New Features in DP 7.pdf wrote:Track controls on folders
Folders now have track controls, such as Play-enable, Solo
Exempt, and Lock, which toggle the corresponding settings
on the tracks inside the folder.
