kernel panics with MIDI express driver v. 1.4.23

on my system (PPC G5, Leopard 10.5.8) I had sporadically kernel panics since I updated my MIDI express driver to version 1.4.23

after nothing helped (changing RAM, re-installing system, checking all periperals like disc, usb-hubs ...) I found that the new MIDI-driver 1.4.23 was the culprit

went back to 1.3.7 and had no one kernel panic anymore

posted this to motu support - but as always no help, no response

so I thought to post this here
