Digital Clicks From New 24I/O

Post by The Ronin »

I am using a brand new 24 I/O. I have outputs 1-2 enabled for playback, but I am seeing sporadic output on #3 (NOT ENABLED FOR OUTPUT). When I see the output on ch 3, that is when I hear the clicks in my monitors. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated...

I may be way off here... But it sounds like maybe your PCI 424 console may not be setup just right... I still have the PCI 324 card, with 2 1224's, and I always set everything "From Computer" that way I have more control over everything in Sonar... What type of setup are you using?

Does the new 24 I/O come with the cuemix and 424 console? Like I said, I may be WAY OFF here...

Yeah, it comes with both apps. I couldn't see where in "audiodesk" I could fix my problem and everything in the 424-PCI controller is set the way it should be so I am still at a loss. Phone support from MOTU is a busy signal so no help there as of yet.

I have the same exact problem with two Motu HD192's. I switched wires, switched units, changed what audiowire port they were attached to...and i always get that channel 3 click.

I'm using them with tiger so maybe that's the problem. Anyone else?!?!?!

That's really strange. So i guess it is NOT a software issue.

I wonder if we have a bad batch of 424 cards or something?!?!

I hope someone at Motu has an answer.

Sorry to hear that I am not the only one with this problem, but it does make me feel better that it is not only me. Thanks to all of you for your input thus far and hopefully MOTU has an answer for us all. Please share any developments and I will make sure to do the same...

i am a little late to the party, but still...

i have been having the same problem, using (2) hd192's on a dual 1.8ghz g5 w/ 1.5 gig of ram. i've tried switching the pci card to all 3 available slots, tried switching the cables to different ports, everything i can think of. i notice that the pci bargraph meter in my cuemix console is always peaked out in the red, and i only get the clicking on the second hd192 (outputs 13-24). i never had this problem when i was using the same setup on my older single 1.8ghz g5, even at 24/96k. and of course i've gotten no reply from motu tech support. if anyone finds a solution, please post it. good luck!

Mute any and all channels you don't need in the cue mix setup. Choose outputs on the right then mute all channels that are not needed.
