The Nomad Plugin Deal
Hey, everyone, the NEW Nomad Plugin offer has been moved to the Announcements section to be more visible to everyone. Trouble is, I'm not sure how many people actually look up in the announcements. There doesn't seem to be an ideal way to do this, so I'm just adding THIS thread to let people know where to look for THAT thread. Maybe it seems overly redundant. Well, in any case, this thread will drop down quickly, but it should do its job, and the dialog should continue up in the announcement thread. If activity drops off in the announcement thread, it can always be moved back into the main forum.
If you want some excellent vintage plugins, it's just too good a deal to let it pass. I've already got some favorites, several of which came from the new upgrade (Integral Studio Bundle). Enjoy!

Hey Shoosh... did you rename the old topic and move it to the announcements. I had a PM exchange with Peter and he was going to create a new topic (which he did) and I was going to move that topic to announcements (which I did). You probably weren't aware of this, but either way we can just leave both topics there through the deadline of this deal.

Re: The Nomad Plugin Deal
Yeah, I moved it this morning. I split off the topic from the post where Peter made the announcement that the Integral Studio Upgrade was going to be available, and laid out the details. I thought he needed some visibility there. I changed the name so that it wouldn't have the same name as the first 5 pages of the thread from which it came.
Having two announcements is even better! Gee, I can already feel the urge to go buy it again!

Re: The Nomad Plugin Deal
It's a pretty good pack, but since the demo-version, I have difficulties to save my patches with some plug-ins that Total Bundle.
The culprits are BlueVerb 2080 DRV, All of Analog Signature (EQP-4, SM 662 & SC 226), RockAmp Legend & E-Series (all)!
I understand your joy at this offer but it seems that a problem existed for DP (6.02)to protect his creations in some plug-ins.
I am a little disappointed and will certainly not buy it if the situation remains so.
Is this the case with you?

Re: The Nomad Plugin Deal
I think somewhere in the old thread (which is now up top in the announcements section) they talked about that and there was a fix for it. I can't remember if it was a permissions thing or what. Anyway, have a look there if no one comes by with the answer straightaway.corbo-billy wrote:It's a pretty good pack, but since the demo-version, I have difficulties to save my patches with some plug-ins that Total Bundle.

Re: The Nomad Plugin Deal
Thanks: I remember Shoosie have the same problem: Nomad Factory's Techsupport told me the following advice .
Go to:
Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support > Nomad Factory
Select the Nomad Factory folder, hold Option-Command and press I on the
keyboard, this will open the info of the Nomad Factory folder, click the
lock and enter your password, then change the privilege to Read & Write for
all 3 names.
Then check if all sub-folders are have the same settings, if not, you'll
have to do it for each preset folder.
PS: This is NOT a problem with our software but a problem with 10.6,
sometimes the permissions are sets correctly, sometimes not....
It might be also a good idea for you to run the Apple disk utility and
repair your disk permissions.
But all Folder Nomad Factory are with Read & Write autorizations !

When you selected the Nomad folder in the Application Support folder, and went to Get Info and edited the permissions, did you click on the little gear thing at the bottom of the window and select "Apply to enclosed items"?corbo-billy wrote:Thanks: I remember Shoosie have the same problem: Nomad Factory's Techsupport told me the following advice .

Re: The Nomad Plugin Deal
I have made that but still no possibility of "Save Settings" on the Nomad Factory's Plug-ins only! It's amazing but we will eventually find.

Found this post from Bernie at Nomad. Read and follow it carefully and take a look at the link he provided.
Nomad Factory wrote:Hello Everyone,
This is Bernie Torelli from Nomad Factory.
We have received emails from customers having problems reading/writing presets with some plug-ins from the Producer Pack on Mac 10.6.1. The problem is related to the permissions settings of the presets folders, some folders must have read/write permissions in order to save/read presets, it looks like it is a 10.6.1 issue, it should work correctly on 10.5.8.
I uploaded to our website a screenshot showing what the permissions have to be, the screenshot has been taken on my machine at home using 10.5.8, should be the same for Snow Leopard 10.6.1

--------- Following text copied from Apple website --------------------
Mac OS X provides distinct permissions for three types of users:
- The "owner" of the item, which is usually the name of the person who created the item, or yourself
- Any member of the group assigned to the item by Mac OS X
- Any other user with access to the computer
There are four levels of permission:
- Read & Write allows a user to open the item to see its contents and change it.
- Read Only allows a user to open the item to see its contents, but not change the contents or copy them.
- Write Only makes a folder into a drop box. Users can copy items to the drop box, but cannot open the drop box to see its contents. Only the owner of the drop box can open it to take items out.
- No Access blocks all access to the item so that users can't open the item, change its contents, or copy its contents.
To change permissions for a disk, folder, or file:
1) Select the item you want to set permissions for, then choose File > Get Info and click Ownership & Permissions, if necessary. If you want to set permissions for multiple items at once, select them, and as you hold down the Control key choose File > Get Summary Info.
2) Choose a permission for yourself from the pop-up menu. If the menu is dimmed, you don't have permission to change this setting.
3) To change permissions for the owner, group, or others, click Detail. If necessary, click the lock icon and, when prompted, enter the name and password of an administrator user of your computer.
4) Choose permissions for each type of user from the Access pop-up menus.
The pop-up menu at the top of the Ownership & Permissions pane tells you the access privileges you have for the selected item. If you are the owner, you can use this menu to change your access privileges.
-----------------------
Then when you launch a plug-in, you should see the presets and must be able to save new presets which are automatically added to the menu under 00-User Presets
I hope this help,
I personally want to Thank You all for your confidence and support to our company.
Best Regards,
Bernie

Re: The Nomad Plugin Deal
Everything is on Read & Write, and no change; I don't understand because I give up and plug-ins from other publishers are working but no saving possibility with Nomad Factory.
Sorry, here is the time to go to bed ...
At Tomorrow _
EDIT: in the Nomad Factory's folder, we found just 37 Plug-ins and not 47; by example, where are the Blueverb and the Essential Serie ?
