Grid / Soundbite View

Post by banta24 »

Hiya,

Coming from Samplitude I got used to a couple of viewing options that were really handy and I'm hoping I can replicate the features in DP.

Grid: Can I set the grid to overlay itself over (in front of) the soundbites?

Soundbite: Can I set the soundbite to always remain visible while dragging?

Right now, the soundbite turns into a transparent box when I drag it, which makes dropping the waveform in the right spot sort of a guessing game. If I could combine that type of view with a grid that is always on top of the soundbites (not just the 1st beat of each bar but every subdivision) editing would be much faster for me.

Currently I'm using DP5, but DP7 is on the way...

Thanks so much!

Grid: Not sure in dp 5, but in 6 there is a preference to show beat grid lines within soundbites. Not exactly the same, but it may accomplish what you're looking for.

Soundbite: NO, AFAIK there is no option for that one.

I know you can change your grid value to almost any value, and the smaller subdivided lines appear as you zoom in.

I would also look into nudging, to see if that works in your workflow. You can change the nudge value very easily to any time value, and that may help with moving soundbites around, even if they are going a distance, with a single keystroke.
