I am an upgrade freak. Whenever I can upgrade, I will. I know I should seek some professional help...
My last upgrade was Os 10.6. Everything started to crash immediately, Dp6.02, Ultralite mk3 acted weirdly, crashed every 2 minutes. Had to restore stuff to 10.5 from backup.
I will get Dp7 when it reaches Europe. Kontakt 3.5 to 4 update also waiting. I am waiting for some payments to arrive, otherwise- no upgrades.

I am running 10.6 on a sep partition till I sort out all the details. Projects showing up at the door and no time for guessing.

Still using 5.13 in Leopard 10.5. Very curious about 6.02 in Snow Leopard judging by several people's positive experiences.
Anyway, I will definitely get DP7... but I'll probably wait until some others give feedback before installing.

I've emailed MOTU to see if there is any recourse. I've only just started getting familiar with DP6 in the last couple of weeks. :?
It would surprise me if they didn't make any sort of accomodation for you if you call them. I can't speak for MOTU of course, but usually there's a certain date where if you recently purchased it you would qualify.
I just called, and the nice folks at Customer Service and they said the cut off is June 1st. My courtesy upgrade will go out this week when they start shipping.

I had a hardware problem a couple of months ago, and found out there was a $100 replacement charge, rather than a diagnostic and repair charge.. Which I didn't know they did. Both cases saved me a lot of money, and this is pretty important right this moment. In both cases the help was friendly and the turn around time for the replacement 24 i/o was quick.

It's this sort of support which will assure I'm a MOTU user for the duration. Support 'em.

Hey - I called tech support today about an issue and the guy said they expect to start shipping DP in about a week. I ordered it too - It will give us all something to talk about. Of course I will jump in with SL at the same time.

I wouldn't take it too personally. At least he gave you a place to post it again!

When I ordered last Friday they said it would ship in about 2 days and I was billed the next day. I thought you didn't get billed until it shipped so I am assuming it is one the way. Also, it might be that tech support isn't in the loop and up to date on what sales and marketing are doing. Last time I didn't get email notification of shipment. THe poor DP6 package just showed up at my door. Tired. Cold. Hungry. I have a nice comfy optical drive, warm current and lots of 1s and 0s waiting for DP7. Make that DP 007! :)

Hey... I bet right before you clicked the "Submit" button on this post, there was a little voice saying to yourself that perhaps it wasn't a good idea. You should have listened.

Hey Crashdown, don't hold back. Tell us how you really feel.

Seriously, I'm a little fuzzy on the whole real-time crossfades thing. I've never had a problem with crossfades the way they are now. What will this mean to us in actual use? I'm assuming good stuff from your post. :D

When you have a project with lots of crossfades, it can bog down because each crossfade is a separate piece of audio. If you nudge a selection of soundbites and crossfades, it has to recalculate each fade for every nudge. Welcome to waiting...

Now, they will be realtime just like the pitch layer, so there should be no waiting...at all..we hope...

I am happiest about this feature alone!
