Velociraptor fitting into 2.8 intel?

Post by daveyboy »

In doing a search I read that the 300 gb raptor didn't fit into Sushsi's mac Anyone using these inside a machine like mine and if so did it slide without issue? Do u notice a speed boost with audio?

They work fine, particularly as boot drives. The one with the "H" in the model number is back plane compatible, the one with the "G" is not.

What's "back plane compatible" mean? Did you have to physically modify the drive to get it into a drive bay?

It means it will slip right in your computer which is the same one I have. Its where the the power and data connectors are mounted on the drive.
The "G" model has its connectors in a slightly different location than the "H" and won't slip in the Mac Pro 2008 and others that use back plane
compatible mounts..
