I just ordered it directly from NI and cause I have a VAT# they took the german VAT off so it was €335. But I suspect swedish VAT might be added on delivery, which will make it €419 or so.
Also NI seem to be swamped with orders took about 10 days for them to get the order out the door, and friday UPS were supposed to deliver it, couldn't be here to recieve it, so I went to their terminal to pick it up and they couldn't find it and now it's been accidentally sent to Denmark and I won't get it till wednesday. Gah!

Too bad I live in Germany where it costs 399 EUROS -- which is about 550 USD. Not quite as exciting.
And the last time I tried to "beat the system" and order something abroad, I got slapped with a customs tax at the door! The postman rang and it was like "So, if you want this package, that'll be another 100, please!"
It's the 19% VAT which kills me every time. Ah, the joys of living in a socialist state!
Oh well, shouldn't complain. Live is good. Even if it's inkomplete.

I just wanted to give a big THANK YOU to mike_o for posting this amazing deal. I think I was one of the last orders from Musicians Friend before it closed and I feel really lucky to have gotten the deal!

So far I'm blown away by these VI's. I already had B4II (which is amazing) but getting Kontakt 3 and GuitarRig is worth $334 in itself. Elektric Pianos and Akoustic Pianos are great too. I didn't bother installing FM8 (does anyone really want Dx7 sounds? lol) and Pro-53, but Absynth, Massive, and Reaktor alll seem to have great sounds and capabilties.

Thanks to this deal, I think I'm finally "satisfied" with my current sound arsenal. I didn't think it would ever happen

Yes... apparently NI pulled this deal down from their web site also... sold out from what I've heard. Glad I got in on it even thought it was a bit of a stretch.

Leafing thru my recently-received Sweetwater Summer Catalog, I was surprised to see Komplete 5 listed for $399.
It ain't up on their website though.

installed Komplete 5 yesterday,updated Kontakt to K3.5.very nice ,having the whole package is really very cool I am glad this was available what a nice deal! one of the best summer sale items in a long time!

Now the $64,000 (or $399 or $334) question is.... Can we sell off the individual modules that we already have and recoup our cost or even come out ahead? For those of you who've already installed it, do you have to install and register it as one big package (Komplete 5) or do you do them individually? (I already have Guitar Rig 3 and Kontakt 3)

RecordingArts -- Komplete 5 has a single serial number, so yes it installs as one giant package.

However, you can sell your old copies of Guitar Rig and Kontakt, you have to set up a registration transfer with NI. Apparently an easy process.

I got in on this too. I still prefer MachFive over Kontakt, but at this price point Komplete is a no brainer. I also bit on the East West 2 for 1 offer, so I'm done investing for a while (well I'm still on the fence about what to do about Waves, but I'll probably renew my WUP and not buy anything else audio related this year). I just finished installing all of this stuff (Komplete and two East West titles), so it will be fun to see how it plays in DP next week, although I don't want to see another DVD installer for quite a while.

had nightmare with Komplete 5 install, everything went bad TWICE!!!, 2 full complete(ahem!!!) install, un install, re installs, then I had problems with live reading plugins that were no longer there and crashing.

bit the bullet used this excuse to go from a 120 GB laptop drive to one of the new seagate 500GB 7200 rpm 2.5" internals, re installed the os 10.5.2 disc that came with the comp, update to 10.5.7 then installed NI Komplete FIRST, before any other programs at all, this install went to hell again!!!

I was so pissed off man, installing Komplete 5 3 times in 3 days with an OS install to go with it, all BAD.

comp passes hardware check and all diagnostics.

so I re install OS 10.5.2 and do not update to 10.5.7, just keep 10.5.2 for my "last" try.

I did a full system re-install to a brand new drive, nothing on the computer at all except for Leopard and Komplete 5 as is from the disk, no updates from the service center yet.

1-KONTAKT 3 is working/playing and saving files fine as a standalone program.

2-BATTERY 3 will open play and save just fine, seems fully functional as a standalone unit.

3-ABSYNTH 4 simply crashes when attempting to launch, it will not open at all.

4-FM8 simply crashes when attempting to launch, it will not open at all.

5-MASSIVE simply crashes when attempting to launch, it will not open at all.

6-B4II will open and play but will give an error stating that it is unable to save and then lock up, I can quit and the GUI closes but the "error:cannot save:^%&^*%.b4a" window will stay, and I must force quit from the activity monitor to get it to actually close the program

7-AKOUSTIK PIANO opens and plays but when trying to save a patch it opens a dialog window that states

"This action will overwrite your current preset

Please note that you can create a new preset by following these steps

*click on the "No" button below
*double click the name of the current preset
*Type in a new name
*click on the save button

Do you want to overwrite the preset
YES NO"
no matter whether I click yes or no it will freeze and lock up the program, like B4II it will close the GUI if I quit, but I must force quit to actually close the message window and close the program.

8-PRO 53 will open and play, but will also "screen freeze" with the message "cannot create Pro 53 Program File", must force quit to actually close. quit will close the GUI, force quit to close the program and get rid of the message.

9-ELEKTRIK PIANO will open and play but will not save, it does not freeze, it just simply will close as though it saved the patch but no file is created, when closing it asks if you want to save your settings, click yes, select a location and create a name, then nothing happens, it does not create a new patch file and it does not close, click no in the save dialog and it will close properly.

10-GUITAR RIG 3 seems totally shot,the sounds menu wont list cabinets or anything in the menu at all, when browsing components you can hover the mouse over the components and it will say "there is no text available for this component please re install the software, if that doesnt help contact native instruments support @" in the lower window.

11-Reaktor will Load an ensemble and play, but when saving its the same freeze behavior as the others, when changing ensembles and you select NO to saving, it freezes as well.




After running all updates these are the results

1-BATTERY 3 is working perfectly

2-FM 8 is working perfectly

3-Massive is working perfectly

4-Kontakt 3 is working perfectly

5-ABSYNTH 4 will launch to show a widow sayin "absynth cannot create new sound database", clicking OK will close the window, but nothing else happens, Absynth is shown in the title bar but nothing can be done, its only the word absynth, no other menus.

6-AKOUSTIK PIANO is working fine after update, opening/playing and saving well so far.

7-B4II will open and play, it will still not save but you can now click OK and it will not freeze, you just cannot save.

*Pro 53 does not have an update from the current version on disk

*after installing all updates the service center still wants to update Absynth, Akoustik Piano, Battery, Elektrik Piano & Guitar Rig, I have double checked their version #'s, and all the updates took, so I dont know why the service center wont recognize that they are already updated.

NI support, well, not that bad I guess, "did you try and repair permissions"
