I tried to install the 1.03 firmware on my 8pre...

Post by Frankie »

And it bricked it! Since the update every time I power on the unit it just says UP on the control panel, I can't get it to work normally. The original install attempt was on an Intel E6750/P35 computer running Vista x64, but I have also tried it on a Pentium 4 laptop running XP with no success. Can someone help me? Maybe an older revision firmware or an alternate way to install the firmware? Thanks in advance!

Looks like it's going back under warranty then. Nice software update!

Yes, it will have to go back to MOTU when the firmware upgrade fails. If you followed directions precisely it can still fail. That's one of the tricky things about FM upgrades. I had the same thing happen but MOTU returned it in good time.
