I usually do my mixing on KRKs, but I find my self staying up late a lot, and I cant really use the KRKs without disturbing the peace. lol. So I am getting a good pair of headphones. Probably the Senn. HD600s.
So here is question one, how well does the Ultralite mk3s phone work with higher-end headphones? Or is it going to be pretty mandatory to get a decent headphone amp?
If I do need the amp, thats fine, but how do I go about using it with the interface?
Now for the 2nd question.
I am looking for more inputs. I think I can trade in my mk3 and only pay the difference of another product, which will be my best bet, but if I can, what would you do to get more inputs?
I would like at least 8 inputs, and with the ultralites 2 inputs id have 10 preamps, then all the standard line-in inputs, which should hold em over nicely.
So let me try to clear it up a bit. How do I add 8 more inputs to my ultralite mk3?
Thanks guys.

If I had another mk3, thats just 2 more inputs (not counting the ones on the back, but those cant power a condenser mic anyways...).
Anyways, does anyone know the output quality of the phone out on the ultralite mk3?

You must be looking for something like the MOTU 8 Pre. It has 8 Preamp inputs. M-Audio has a audio interface with 8 PreAmps, too.
The headphone output is nice on the UltraLite MK3. You have it. You can listen to it. What kind of answer are you looking for?

Yeah, was checking out the motu 8pre yesterday. Also some other 8pres, but just making sure they can work simply by just plugging it in and being good to go.
I really dont feel like I need to explain the use of a headphone amp here and ohms.
Anyways, motu finally got back to me about the power output of the mk3s phone out and I have my answer. Ill be getting this.
