ultralite MK3 problem...

hey guys,

firstly, when i power on my ultralite, the volume knob by default is set on headphones. Shouldnt it be set to main outs then click down to choose headphones? can this be changed in settings? not a big deal but it bugs me.

now for the problem... iam running xp sp3.

when i use the ultralite in cubase 5 it works flawlessly. i love it.

when i have it on as my default audio card in windows. it seems to work fine when playing audio(music mp3s...internet sounds, computer sounds...etc) but from time to time (apx every 5-10 tracks i open) the LCD display on the ultralite in channel 7 and sometimes in L digital out, displays a signal as the bar increases then fades away which then allows it to play the music file.

so from the time when i double click a sound file to open it, there is a pause on my system and the lcd bar on the ultralite goes up and down like its getting a signal, sometimes it even makes a soft squelching noise (the same sound it makes when you change the sample rate in the motu audio console)

i have nothing plugged in to channel 7, i have never used it and never used the digital out either.

i have main outs to my monitors and channel 3 in from my dj mixer to record.

this is strange? has anyone come across this problem?
