Re: DP6 - how many times per session do you crash?
Just found another bug:
Every time I adjust a bit volume and then select a different audio part in tracks overview to be displayed in the editor, DP crashes.
Every time, no exceptions.

Please, open a tech-link at MOTU.com and get them on it. If they can reproduce a bug, and it sounds like they could do that one, then they'll get on it immediately. That's better for all of us.

Re: DP6 - how many times per session do you crash?
I think one of the big problems with crashing in DP6 is the Gui.
Because it seems of the redesign there are a few bugs floating around.
When (the $64K question) they get this sorted it's going to rule IMHO.
PS It damn near rules now.

I think you're spot on, Kass, on all counts for a lot of reasons already mentioned.kassonica wrote:I think one of the big problems with crashing in DP6 is the Gui.

Yep and it maybe why it's taking them a while to sort out the update as well...Frodo wrote:I think you're spot on, Kass, on all counts for a lot of reasons already mentioned.kassonica wrote:I think one of the big problems with crashing in DP6 is the Gui.

I suspect the next update WILL fix a lot of problems and knowing Motu there maybe a surprise in store.

melodyne, proverb (this ones hit and miss), omisphere, seems better with the update but still troublesome. Kontakt is also a pain, I got this one a while ago and thought the upgrade to 3 would be better but not so. Battery is hit and miss. those are the ones off the top of my head. I'm just disappointed cause I shelled out some serious cash and had high hopes. I have been a NI customer for a while and hopefully next update will fix compatibility.

NYE is unfortunately irrelevant. I was handed a five week job to complete over a two week period during the producer's "Holiday Break". Som e mighty mean deals in Hollywood unfortunately. Can't get out of it at this stage.Frodo wrote:It's New Year's Eve, so urgency may be playing against necessity. Contact MOTU first thing Monday. They may charge you a fee (something new I hear they're doing with support for older versions of DP), but considering that they've botched everyone's online download accounts I would think that they owe you a favor.
In my delerium of super late nights, I somehow got it to download, some google searches etc, managed to find a downloadable copy and continue on my way!

Re: DP6 - how many times per session do you crash?
Thankfully,
Very few crashes on my Intel Laptop, maybe one beachball on the G5 Tower per every 10 hours of work? I'm pullin back on the 3rd party plug-ins, especially if the sequence uses some of the more demanding 3rd party VI's.

Re: DP6 - how many times per session do you crash?
Celemony released a fix for DP6 compatibility. DP6 was black-listed for a while on Celemony's site, but no more. It seems to be working quite well now-- I'm running 1.0.3.1 in Tiger (10.4.11) and 1.0.4.2 in Leopard (10.5.5).bootsncats wrote:mattfort wrote:Um..... And which plugs crash it???

BUT.... If you ALREADY own it, isn't it ok? Like a free backup system????

Re: DP6 - how many times per session do you crash?
You know, that is an interesting question. I'm sure someone can come up with analogies on both sides as to why it is/is not ok.mattfort wrote:BUT.... If you ALREADY own it, isn't it ok? Like a free backup system????
- Does using the illicit warez "system" in anyway contribute to the demand for and hence existence of that system?
Does dipping into warez eco-systems for things at all "taint" the participant?
Do some folks way over blow this type of thing and have too much time on their hands to discuss supposedly weighty moral issues? Probably
Peace out.
