I recently aquired a 2408 cheap on eBay but of course without a manual so I'm not sure how to set it up as a standalone format converter.
My thinking is to use it by hooking up the tdif from th DM to the 2408, format convert to ADAT into the lightbridge and then into Protools.
My reasoning is that I would like to mix out of the box to free up the computer's processor. That would give me 24 tracks plus I could use the built in ADAT for an additional 8 tracks, grand total of 32.
Has anyone ever tried this before or thought of it?
Any thoughts/help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
