New firmware for MOTUmk3 - What's it for?

I found the new Drivers and New firmware. Any information if this is a good idea to install?
Where do I find information on these downloads?

Nobody is going to be able to help you unless you tell us what interface you're talking about. Simply saying Mk3 doesn't help, becuase there's:

• 2408 Mk3
• Ultralite Mk3
• 828 Mk3
• 896 Mk3

sorry, new to this stuff. If have a MOTU 896mk3. I cannot get the new firmware ver 1.06 to load. I have downloaded it several times and each instances returns a "file is Bad" flag when I attempt to install it.

There is no Firmware update for the 896 Mk3 - there is a v1.06 update for the 828 Mk3, but that is a different product, which is why it's not working for you.

And also the update for 828 MKIII is an old one. It is released in June 2008. From my point of view there aren’t new firmware release.
