I definitely have issues. With soundbites. When I paste something from one project to another(like I've done a hundred times), strange things happen!
When I paste audio in to another project, it appears to be there in the "tracks" window. You can see it 100%.
But at the same time, it is faded light gray in the "seq. editor" as though it's not there. And it doesn't sound.
Also in the soundbite window, there is a red X by it as if DP can't find the soundbite, even though I just pasted it in to the project. Lastly, and strangest yet, the soundbite for the track that I am trying to paste in that has the red X by it in the soundbite window, -when I click on it- (which usually causes it to sound), it turns from the "faded light gray" in the seq. editor to solid ( as though it found it now) and the red X goes away. But still the track won't play.
Has anyone experienced this?

If you've done it 100 times and it doesn't work, try to IMPORT the actual soundbite into the destination project. There's no predicting what DP's tolerances are where copy/paste are concerned.
You could also select tracks in the source project and then drag them to the desktop. This creates a "clipping", which contains reference data for the audio and MIDI tracks you want to extract from one project to another. You can also create a clipping by using the Project Menu. Look for clippings near the bottom of that menu.
I know this might be a different workflow for you, but when one workflow suddenly misbehaves-- it's always good to have another method handy to pimp-smack DP into doing what you want it to do.

sounds like sample rate maybe diff?
select those bites in bites window - you may then change the sample rate / or bit depth there...
copy and paste is convenient - but it bypasses the import prefs.. so the sample rate wont be converted automatically...
you will also find it wont "copy" them into the project audioo folder - evenn if your prefs are set like that...
so things MAY go missing..
You will find the same is true of clippings.. ( which are fantastic!!!! )
I recommend that you save and dupe audio when closing a session...
a good work flow like that will save you hours of agony!

Go to DP Preferences>Editing>Automatic Conversions
set:
Enable Automatic Conversions for this Project
Convert Sample Rate on Import
Or set your sample rate before you paste.
