DP 6.01 and Autotune EVO: Bad Combo!

Post by SamGlaser »

AT Evo crashes DP 6.01 when you apply it to a soundbite. This is the best that Antares would give me:

We are aware of two Digital Performer bugs relating to crashes when using Auto-Tune Evo in offline processing mode. Digital Performer will provide an update in the future. You might want to urge them to do it ASAP. Using Auto-Tune Evo as a channel insert should be no problem in Digital Performer 6.

If there are any MOTU folk reading this, do you have any response?

On another note, is there a recommended VST wrapper now that VSTWrapper by AudioEase is outdated?

Thanks,

Sam Glaser

I don't normally use AutoTune in offline mode but that's good to know. Just today I was thinking that I should print (render) all the tracks I have AutoTune on (keeping the original of course) and wondered if I should use freeze tracks or bounce to disk. I've been having issues with Merge soundbytes in DP6.

Also, I have a bunch of projects with AutoTune 5 and they were crashing on my Intel machine so I wondered now that I have AutoTune Evo, if I should switch them all over. I wondered if one is more processor effecient than the other....

Regarding wrappers... How about Fxpansion?

Well thats just great! No Autotune Evo or Melodyne in DP 6.01. Just what are we supposed to do? Sing On Pitch? =-)
Peace!

AutoTune Evo works fine. Melodyne PlugIn works if you select always run in real time for your plug ins. DP itself has a great pitch editor too, so we still don't have to sing in tune. Just go for attitude and emotion and fix the pitch in the mix :)
