Both are priced in the same park $440.
I'm thinking the Gold point would be a better bet. Not sure about SPL's verbiage about active circuitry being superior to passive designs having issues with impedance problems?

Any other attenuator even close to either of the above?
I checked out SMPro mpatch2, but the attenuator specs has issues for the task at hand, which I beleive SPL is referencing.

Re: Goldpoint SA1X or SPL Volume 2
After thinking about this , I came to a realization that getting Benchmark DAC-1 maybe be the ticket for just $500 more. Good DA, which won't hurt, and has a volume pot, can outs etc. I am researching for AD/DA at the moment and have the Lavry DA-10 under consideration. The DAC-1 has better i/o and a nice pot.
Though I have read that the pot gets scratchy after some use?
