PC Hardware configuration: installing motu ultralite

Post by Layra »

Hello,
I want to buy a motu ultralite and a new computer, in order to create a mini studio recording at home, but to install this kit, I need a chipset texas instrument.

So what is an ASUS motherboards recommend to use motu ultralite??

Hello Layra,

Western Digital (probably others) has a PCMCIA card with firewire ports and it utilizes a TI chipset too. I use one on occasion with my setup for an extra hard drive, etc. If the Asus computer does not have a PCMCIA input, and the 1394 port does not have a TI chip internally, I think I would look at another laptop. I have heard that some of the newer laptops do not have PCMCIA sockets! Ask questions.
