DP6 Upgrades for people who bought DP5 after Jan 1.

Post by zaque »

Has anybody who bought DP5 after Jan. 1 2008 received their complementary upgrade? I submitted my upgrade form hours after DP6 pre-order was announced which was June 18th or 19th! Now we're already into August and I'm feeling pretty bummed out reading all these reviews of DP6 and having nothing to add.

MOTU, did you forget about me? Did the complementary upgrade people get pushed aside?

Hi zaque

I can't tell where you are, but if you are UK based then the upgrades are being sent out NOW according to MusicTrack. Mine is also a complementary upgrade, and I have been told it will definitely be with me by Friday.

There are at least a couple of threads on this you might want to search out. I bought DP 5.13 after Jan. 1, '08, and got my order in for my complimentary DP6 as soon as I heard they were taking orders. It arrived at the house on 7-24. Hope you get yours soon. Maybe call MOTU - can't hurt, just tell them you'd like to check the status of your order.

just spoke with MOTU (again):

when i called last week, i asked when complimentary upgrades would be shipping, i was told none had gone out yet (even though several people here reported that they already received it), and that there was no known date when they would begin shipping.

i also received a serious attitude from the woman i spoke with that left me rather heated.

today, i asked to check the status of my order, the woman i spoke with this time was much more pleasant, and she told me they would call me back.

they did in fact call back, though i did not expect it after 6:00, and he told me i had good timing, because my order had just processed, and it will be shipping within the next couple of days.

i seem to recall a few other people here mentioning that they called to find out order their status, and received the same news i just got.

maybe that is the key, they just need to be reminded (via telephone).

i would advise anyone else waiting to hear something to call and inquire on your order status, that may just be what gets the ball rolling.

finally a light at the end of this long, long tunnel.

cheers :D

I did email them a few weeks ago but maybe i'll give a call tomorrow.

Glad to hear that some people have gotten them but doesn't sound like MOTU has officially started to process Complementary Upgrades.

Honestly, it might not be a bad thing if it takes another week as you might just end up getting 6.01 delivered to you instead and that would not be a bad thing.

I just got my shipping notice for my complimentary upgrade today. I sent my upgrade paperwork in on the day after DP6 was released. So they are probably just now shipping. Keep your heads up. It'll be there soon!

i just checked my order/registrations status on the MOTU site, and it has been updated to v6.0 (after getting confirmation over the phone).

i may still wait for the .01 update to install, haven't decided yet. but i don't have any major projects going on currently, so we'll see.

i admit that as i have tried my hardest to stay patient and optimistic, i was beginning to get a little jealous reading about everybody else's "good" times with DP6, and i was starting to feel like the last in line.

i guess i just needed the satisfaction of knowing that i have not been forgotten.

got it. :D
