Cheers, Rainman. It really was a lot to impart and to digest in a relatively short time, but I can't say that I minded. The meeting was constructive and informative, and I hope this was but one of many meetings as DP6 gets through its teething period.

Frodo, I'm curious to know if the rep took any notes and did you give him a copy of your questions?

It would seem to me rather hard for him to make any sort of difference for anyone without these things in writing.

Thanks for all your effort

Not to worry, Giggity. It was not all just conversation. Much survives in writing.

It is. I haven't been there in years - but I think I'm going to start going back. Sat. AM for breakfast is awesome - with those 3 foot (Hobbit foot) pancakes. I hear the french toast is the size of a JBL 15" EON cabinet - and just as thick! :)

Hope to see you tomorrow nite if you can get your work done.

Will try my best-- but you know how it is. I *will* catch you in action at some point. Just keep me posted of what's on the calendar.

French toast. LOL.

Indeed! And we wouldn't have it any other way (nor could we...) They don't call them deadlines for nothin' :)

Frodo,

Sorry. Didn't mean to pop out and startle you. ;-)

I haven't plucked, keyed, nor recorded since 4.61. And especially not sung. Lots of change in my immediate circles has held center stage. Bought 5, never cracked it, but, looking forward to new adventures now, I ordered 6, picked up a mandolin, and turned to UN for The Scoop.

Forever, this has been the bee's knees of Web fora. Way more light than heat. Being a hobbit, you obviously appreciate the way Mr. Steele tends his garden. So all the early yelling @ MOTU and 6 was quite, um, disconcerting. But a series of posts—especially by Shooshie, billf, and yourself—were quite reassuring in their way. And the attendance report was such a gracious act, I wanted to say thanks.

My thanks as well, Frodo, for your efforts. Above and beyond the call of duty, AFAIK. Hugely appreciated.

Much thanks for taking the time and energy to do this.

It is an insight into the company and the way it works.

I really like motu as a company and this only strengthens it for me.

Although we might get frustrated with their secrecy this and DP6 shows in spades that they really do listen to their users which is NO 1 in my book.

Frodo:
I salute you for your efforts for all this, that, hopefully, will help make of DP a greater app.

Regarding points 19, 22 and 23, I'm so glad they were met with interest. By what you wrote that they would need to know more detail about them, and why they would be a good implementation, should this be done through the "regular" channels (motu suggestons), or what would be a good follow up? Phone call maybe?

If the MOTU rep you spoke to wishes to remain private, I would be happy to type a detailed list as to the "why's and how's" of those points, and, if appropriate, sending you a copy. Please let me know what you think the best way of doing this is.

Recibe un fuerte abrazo de mi parte, amigo!

David and David--

It was truly my pleasure. It really took little more effort than it would had I gone there to be a fly on the wall for my own sake.

If nothing else, I was feeling that U-nation needed a morale boost of *some* sort, however small, without breathing any kind of false optimism into the atmosphere here. If DP is critical to serious production right now, DP5 is still the best bet.

But while we were waiting for DP6 we were also still complaining about DP5s shortcomings. Now, DP.13s strong points are gaining new appreciation. DP6 will get there, and from what I've seen it's well on its way.

Whatever the case, you can't succeed if you don't try. I'm so glad I went-- but I'm quite amazed that I was able to get out of there without buying anything! :?

Oh- BTW---

Everyone who attended received a free copy of Amplitube 2 Duo and Ampeg SVX Uno.
