MachFive 2 Standalone Clicks/Pops into DP

Post by malditoyanki »

Hi gang,

I used to run MachFive 2 out of the lightpipe on the back of my Mac into my interface, but clocking was sketchy that way.

I got a Apogee Symphony card and am trying to now route the sound out of Symphony's Vbus into DP. It works but.......the clocking is horrible. Click and pops galore.

I have a Big Ben master clocking my Rosetta. Rosetta is connected to Symphony PCI.

Try if increased buffers help...

Get this!

LOWERING the buffers in DP to 128 cleaned up the sound! However, I can't run a sequence at 128 with other plugins running without getting overload messages every 2 seconds.

Crap...

Here's the answer.

Set buffer to 128 THEN change host buffer multiplier to 3.

sound is clean and I detect no latency when I perform.
