828mkIII and PCIE 424 Card

Post by The Sinner »

Quick question.

If i were to hook up the 828mkIII to my PCIe 424 card would the system processing be on the 828 or the PCI?

Also can the 828 generate (output) and sync to time code?

Wha?

I didn't know you could make that connection; it's not a PCI interface, as far as I know.
Ready to stand corrected any time, though... :?

I think you would be risking damage to your computer or the 828 or both if you hooked it up the the 424 card. It's a firewire device, not a pci card-based device.

The 828 can read and write smpte.
