Well, for one that comes to mind, there is a menu that opens in Logic with a click-hold of the mouse that allows access to the all parameters in FabFour-- but they appear in a Logic menu for a different purpose.

In both apps, you *can* access these parameters in FabFour VIEW menu, but the nice thing about Logic is that from its own "mirror" sticky menu, you can see the parameter as ADT or Reverb, etc. (by name). All you have to do here is select the parameter name for which you want to record automation data and off you go.

It's not impossible in DP, but because of the limited AU handshaking, you must first figure out the particular CC# that is pre-assigned to ADT and other parameters, then you must set DP to record by that number (and not by the parameter name). With 20+ parameters in a project, it's a LOT easier to select-assign-record-switch-record-swith-record... different automation parameters with less thought and fewer steps.

Of course, the downside in Logic is that setting up a multi-timbrel instrument is a royal nightmare, whereas DP easily wins in this department. It's really a wild trade off.

That's why I say that if DP6 does a similar kind of AU handshaking that Logic does and retains its current manner of setting up multi-timbrel instruments, then that alone will make upgrading to DP6 worth it.

Well... Sonic Reality is also now doing a project with former Beatle's engineer Ken Scott, recreating drum sounds from the '70s, and, as was done with the FabFour collection, they are also sampling to 2" analog tape.

Very cool, Mister Zed.

I can't wait to see what the results are with this. Wow!!

I especially love the inclusion of the link:
http://www.recordingthebeatles.com/

See, this makes me all the more eager for DP6 if it means that AU support moves on to the the next level.

On an almost completely different note, I'm listening to the best of Badfinger right now. Such fun stuff!

Oh my gosh. Good for you, sir Frodo. :-):-):-) :P :-) :P :-):P:-):-):-)

Next to the Beatles, no other band turns me on quite as much as Badfinger. And Pete Ham is one of my favorite singers.

And for anyone out there who's reading this and thinking "Who the hell is Badfinger?" then check out this:

Y'know Flapper, I may have heard the original DITL inadvertently at some point, but I'm not sure I have.
However, I used to have Wes Montgomery's "Day in the Life" album, a fold-out job with an ashtray full of butts on the front.

There was something magical about that record.
It had a spacial-dimensionality thing going on that owed a great deal to the very-much-alive orchestral component.
Man, I loved that record; it constituted most of what I've heard from the Beatles.

Pretend I've placed your favourite quote here

Indeed-- a great tribute, that WM album. What a testament to great material when other musicians feel moved to immerse themselves in your music. And we know how the establishment shunned the Beatles at the time as being creators of "noise that would never last".

Then, along comes Wes.

The compliments just don't get much bigger than that.

That's just good honest rock and roll-- great chord changes. I love that tune.

One does not NEED to buy what one decides to buy. One can buy simply because one CAN, and WILL. Ahhh.. Gibson SG. Just waiting there on some wall for Frodo to pick it up. What does Need have to do with it? This is about having lots of friends. Friends with long necks. Friends that sing. Friends with cool paint jobs. Friends with knobs. ;)

(I know I'm torturing you. I apologize. Your new Gibson SG and I will make it up to you somehow. :D:D:D)

And for those who don't know... our dear Kenny Roger's was first in a psychedelic band (First Edition) before he became so well known as a country singer. You probably heard one of their biggest hits in The Big Lebowski:
