Ultralite Noise Problem.....

Post by alkrause »

Hi Folks! I`m new to this community and i`ve a question:

I got a Motu Ultralite and a Macbook Pro 2,16Ghz. Both togehter give a constant audio noise to my Studio Monitors that is far beyond the real level of the Ultralite`s Output signal but noticeable. It sounds like some data-traffic or anything like that. I`ve found out, that it depends on whether a second display is conected to the MBP`s DVI-port. So if i disconnect the display the output is clean. I got the same problem on all outputs exept the Phones (if i connect headphones directly to the Ultralite there is no noise on the phones, no matter what output routing is selected for them.)

It would be great if anyone out there has an idea what to do to get rid of that noise.

Thanks!

Hi
I know this issue too, when I connect a second monitor.
Solution:
Use the external power supply for the UltraLite.
