Best (as in "most stable") version of OS X 10.4x w

Post by IWood »

I read this somewhere on here, but for life of me can't find it via search.

Basically: someone mentioned that there's a version of Tiger that plays best with a certain version of DP 4.5.

I've finally got 10.4, and I've got an incremental upgrade to DP 4.5 available, but I want to make sure I don't "over upgrade" either one if I don't have to.

It kind of depends on who you talk to. The most stable combination for me so far has been DP5.13 w/ OS 10.4.11. Others may say, "No way."

Yeah, I sort of figured as much...I'll be stuck on DP 4.x for the foreseeable future...I guess I'll just do the free DP upgrade I'm owed, and tick up incremental OSX versions until something breaks or I run up against Leopard.

Totally 100% rock-solid with DP4.61 and 10.4.10. I may venture to 10.4.11 soon, as I haven't heard anything negative. I was on DP4.61 and 10.4.7 for months and months without an issue. Redid all of the sound for a feature-length indie-comedy on that setup.

Still on 10.4.8 here.

Upgrading to Intel should the new Pros appear soon, in which case I'll be lumped with the new big cat.
If it's as stable as 10.4.8 has been, I'll be happy. :D
