Hey-- the party's right here!! Every day!! All Cornies are always invited and welcome in perpetuity.
Thanks for the nice thoughts, guys. I only have a few hours left to do some real damage, so I'd better hob' to it, eh?
Darn, MLC-- that cake looks amazing! Looks like I picked the wrong week to go on a diet.

It's Monkey Man's secret recipe. He came out of hiding just long enough to zip it over here.Frodo wrote: Darn, MLC-- that cake looks amazing! Looks like I picked the wrong week to go on a diet.
No secret ingredients.
Strawberry Upsidedown Poo Pie! Could be worse. Could be the chocolate Lay'er Cake.

Happy Birthday Frodo,
I'll have a couple of beers when I get home from work and imagine you're having a couple too. Maybe one day we'll do so in the same time zone.
Cheers,
Dave

Happy Birthday, Frodo! Thanks for all the help and for the level head in the midst of heated and confusing discussions. Weird how a virtual bulletin board can make you like people that you've never actually met. Yer a big part of that feeling around here.
(So, uh, how does he play piano with nine fingers, anyway?)

The party continues-- funny how sunrise can put a damper on things...
GWJ-- did you say Talisker? My fave, second only to Lagavulin. Actually, I was in search of Boodles (different avenue altogether), but it's rare west of the Atlantic. Talisker will MORE than suffice.
I get the feeling that the partying won't be over until at least Monday!!

Ancient Shire secret.
Dear Friends:
I've had Intel woes dating back to April of this year, followed by a summer of DP misery. The past four months have had me working 20 hours a day, during which time I've prepared some 50 orchestral scores (despite adversities)-- ALL of which have been premiered by a real orchestra (one of them is currently being conducted by my hero, John Williams!!).
So, here I sit for the first time in MANY months with some semblance of a day off. Wow. I'd forgotten what it was like.
So, to you all I raise a glass of cake and eat a toast in your honor.
More soon-- including a photo...
Cheers to you all with much attitude of gratitude!!
...to be continued...

I think that question is best left unanswered.npatton wrote:...(So, uh, how does he play piano with nine fingers, anyway?) ...

Sorry to have missed yours by a few hours Frodo... funny thing is, I realize as I read this thread that it is now MY birthday, December 14! It's off to bed, for tomorrow is another Christmas Party Casual. I just love playing music with old friends on my birthday, then getting paid with a nice, fat check.
Oh yes: HBD Frodo! Congrats on the scores. Good choice in conductors.

Actually, I believe it is 9.5 fingers, making him one of the few pianists in the Shire to be able to play microtonally on a tempered keyboard - even without The Ring.npatton wrote:...(So, uh, how does he play piano with nine fingers, anyway?) ...
