A new 20" iMac for $794?

Post by rentadrummer »

It was Tuesday only, and according to my local Frys, only in San Jose. For that price I would have bought two.

That's a serious deal-- at more than 30% off?

Heck-- I could have flown there to buy it and still have saved some cash!

Almost 50% off. That one lists for $1,499, though Amazon has it with a $75 rebate.

Ah-- I was thinking about the $1200 model. The pic was sort of small to read the fine print, except for the 20" part.

That's even more unheard of. I would think that it might have been a floor model/refurb because Apple historically gives very little leeway with their MSRP's.

Then again, Apple has been doing some considerable price restructuring this year. Logic Studio's price aside, places like macconnection, amazon, and other vendors have indeed been offering all sorts of rebates lately.

Strange that Frys.com only shows one model of MacPro (listed under Power Mac!), being the 2.66 Dual at $2499.

Gotta watch for those deals, eh?
