the new version of Mach52.02 fixed the bugs I had.
The few keyswitched VSL giga sounds I loaded worked flawlessly.
I just had a giga die and was thinking of replacing it with a Mac Mini running M52.
Not sure how much you can pound on it. Giga was pretty solid that way.
Anyone???!!!
Wish they would upgrade Mini like they upgraded MacBook: faster bus, 4gb ram, etc...
Anyone replace their giga machine with Mac Mini & M52??

I heard of a guy who had Gigastudio running on Mac Minis via Bootcamp, not with Machfive, but said they worked great. He had a Mac mini for each library as he didn't want to run external drives (he was loaded obviously).
I've been interested in finding a portable solution to a separate DAW for Giga for a while, however, Machfive seems not to load up big libraries (such as large-sample pianos) which means it doesn't tick an important box for me at least.
My impression is that PCs are still needed for the time being for any serious Giga work, but hopefully Machfive will sort that out soon. For smaller libraries, such as upright basses etc, it's a fairly safe bet.
