Hi all,
Any comments on what what be the wisest choice in an upgrade for use on a Dual G4?
I'm currently using the original Mach 5, vesion 1.2.3. and it's working fine.
As long as I don't start to use any of it's built in effects, open up another instance of Mach 5, or use other virtual instruments, my old Dual G4 is fine.
Am pondering the Mach 5 upgrade or going to Kontakt if it's more efficient.
Thanks for all ideas.
Most efficient sampler for Dual G4's? M5 or Kontakt?

Kontakt is great, but as far as CPU friendliness goes (in my experience) anything running natively in MAS tends to work a bit better with DP-- ie: MachFive.
Leaving GUI and features aside on both, Kontakt benefits from robust third-party support. You won't find many MAS-native libraries floating around for M5. However, I understand that the import/conversion features in M5v2 are vastly improved.
