Canon in D has been one of my pet "hates" all my life, so this really hit the spot.
It's not that I hate it; I just wish it would go somewhere, but of course if it did it wouldn't be a canon. :?
My slow connection meant I really only got to check out the first "part", but it's well done, and I sure can understand where he's coming from. :D

I thought Pachelbel's canon was wonderful until somewhere in the 1980's or 70's Burger King started that damnfool commercial: "hold the pickles hold the lettuce, special orders don't upset us, all we ask is that you let us, serve you your way..." and it was sung to Pachelbel's canon. The Burger King song still has the potential to haunt me to this day, and I consciously avoid the canon in D for that reason. But it's true that so much music follows those same chords. I guess we're going to have to invent some new chords.

OMG Shoosh, I sooo remember that BK commercial ... now ... thanks a heck of a lot!!! You know the lyric .... still ??? poor guy.... oh and inventing new chords ... you ought to see my band play if you want some new chord ideas ... somehow though I can't see our chords being copied ....
