File created on later version nonsense

Post by mxman1 »

I've installed, uninstalled and reinstalled all to no avail.
I keep getting a message that "this file was created on a later version of DP and cannot be saved".

Installed 5.1, upgraded to 5.11 then 5.12. Uninstalled and trashed anything DP then installed 5.1 again. Same message.
Crash log says:
Date/Time: 2007-08-20 14:05:59.061 -0700
OS Version: 10.4.9 (Build 8P135)
Report Version: 4

Command: Digital Performer
Path: /Applications/MOTU DP5 Folder/Digital Performer 5.1.app/Contents/MacOS/Digital Performer
Parent: WindowServer [57]

Version: 5.1 (5.1)

PID: 435
Thread: 0

Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (0x0001)
Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE (0x0002) at 0x00000000

Thread 0 Crashed:
0 <<00000000>> 0x00000000 0 + 0
1 com.apple.HIToolbox 0x932a1148 MenuElement::ResolveAndGetData(long, __CFString const*, unsigned long, unsigned long*, unsigned long, unsigned long*, void*) + 132
2 com.apple.HIToolbox 0x934c1c60 ChangeMenuItemSystemAttributes(MenuData*, unsigned short, unsigned long, unsigned long, unsigned long, unsigned long*) + 152

ETC......

Any thought's to where i can go from here?
Never had this trouble. 5.12 works fine on my MacPro Powerbook 2.16
but not on tis G5 2.0Dual PCIe.

Thanks in advance

Did you see this MOTU tech note? I found it by searcing "later version" at the website.

http://www.motu.com/techsupport/technot ... %20version

I get a message saying Digital Performer is not authorized to run, the trial has expired, or file was created in a later version

This behavior is a result of the authorization file having incorrect file permissions when Digital Performer was installed.
