Then I've loaded Ivory (Steinway), WhiteGrand&Sister, AKoustikPiano (Bechstein) a piano I've built years ago (Fazioli mezza coda) now played by M5v2, and also played my Shimmel real piano - real cos it's one of those woody - stringy - cumbersome thing

Recorded a MIDI track, duplicate for each piano and then compared one to the other. On this test TP sounded just a bit ... confused on the low mid area if compared to AK, WG or Ivory but generally it did a good job on reproducing the track dynamics. My only real complaint is about the high section of the piano, more or less the last highest octave an half, which it sounds very dull to me, missing the hammer noise attack which is a very important part of the sound in that area of the piano where the strings are that short.
TP is very good piano, and probably one of the best choice for anyone that has to perform live, cos there's no need of external drive for the samples, no need to be worried about streaming, so what the company claim it's true. And from what I've heard (not tested myself). it does speak quite well too in a mix, like WG for example, better than Ivory.
Would it be my first choice for a recording piano session? I don't know, I still can hear important components difference when compared to samples based instruments and to my real piano, basically about detail and overtones, but being a v1 of a software I suppose there's still a lot of room for improvements.
So, chapeau to 4Front people, and if this offer will go on I'll probably get one copy for myself ... to play on my PBook live perhaps?
