Powermac G5 and reliable ram for use with audio apps, DP,PT

Post by dvillage »

I'm temporarily purchasing a G5 to use with DP and PT and I wanted to know if anyone knew what the most reliable ram manufacturer is for this?............Crucial, Kingston? I'm getting a G5 because I can't afford to upgrade my Dig Performer and Pro Tools HD 2 setup to an Intel mac yet and I'm extremely tire of all the kernal panics I get with my MDD dual gig G4 and Dig Performer, despite how many times I run utilities on the drives and the machine. If anyone has any info on good ram for a Dual 2.0 gig G5 that would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance 8) 8)

Other World Computing RAM (even their own RAM) has been reliable on my G5. But what do you mean "temporarily" purchasing a computer???

MIDI Life Crisis and HCMarkus,

Thanks for the info. MIDI Life Crisis............Temporarily means just that. It's an interim {did i spell that right?} computer till I can buy the intel mac. My current G4 MDD dual gig with Digital Performer just kernal panics and crashes too much. it doesn't do it with Pro Tools. So until I can afford the Intel mac and all the upgrades I'll have to do with a G5.

:( :( :(

Oh just to add I'm still on DP 4.6
