Anyone using Metric Halo ChannelStrip?

Post by Noumenon »

Anyone using this plugin?

For some reason the lowest value the delay section can be set at is 16ms and that renders it kinda useless (although the manual says it can be set fot 0ms delay). Either way, I guess the delay compensation doesn't work on this since it's more of a delay than latency. How can I deal with this?

I use CS in DP 4.6. The delay compensation does work with it. I just tested it - duplicated a track put CS on one and trim plug. Flipped the phase and got total cancelation.

strange. 'cause I always get problems, but might it have to do with ezdrummer then?

anyways, when I have CS on the drum tracks for ezd the drums won't align with the click.

Dumb question, but I'm covering all the bases: You have delay compensation checked in the settings?

yup!
but I've ruled CS out now.
I've noticed that ezd is still messed up even when CS is removed.

I've noticed that if you are using busses, sometimes latency comp gets fouled up, especially if the project or buss was created with a previous version of DP.

I found a workaround--delete the buss and any related busses, reinstantiate them, and my latency problems went away.

Also, some plugs [L3 is one of them] seem to break latency comp when on a Mix/master aux or a master fader--I've found that this trick can fix that too.

Let me know if it works.

Spot on XYZ!
Removed L3 from the master buss and it all went back to normal :D

Sorry about that. Looks like you already deleted it.

I added some security to my website and did not fully comprehend the ramifications.

Oh, and Great that it worked for you!

I was doing some drums, and I can't live with the phasing that occurs, so I struggled with this for some time until I tried to replicate the problem with a new clean project and could not. The rest was just troubleshooting till I figured this out.

Oh, and yes, I have heard a number of people on the a waves related thread [may be on the Waves forum] complain that the Waves plugs are losing settings.

I'm using Waves AU on an Intel machine with 5.12 and do not have this problem.
