i just received my 5 pound box of dp5 manuals and dvd's and wanted to inquire within the group if anyone has any tips before i make the leap? aside from backing everything up, which i do after every session, i want to know specifically, if there are any problems with plug-ins after the switch?
like many of you, i have quite a lot of plug-ins, most of which were free, but some that were not (and were downloaded-legally, from the net) and i've saved all the dmg files in order to reload them if need be, but will i need to do this when dp5 loads for the first time or will they all magically reappear in my dropdown lists? fortunately, i don't have any sessions this weekend, but i'd hate to be unable to work next week, because i'm reloading all of these things.
any help on this would be great and i'll peruse the list of past posts for info as well.
thanks,
djim

blindbanjodjim,
I know, for instance you will have to upgrade altiverb to the latest version. Other plugs may also apply, (PSP, Tones).
I would suggest you update immediately to 5.11 after you install 5.0, (I think it's shown to be the most stable build).
What OS version are you on?...Read the stickies on this forum for more tips. You definitely want to de-bug and run some test projects this weekend, before you go into session next week.

Read all the read mes that come with the installation.blindbanjodjim wrote:iif there are any problems with plug-ins after the switch?
There are a few problem plug ins that need to be updated (Audioease, for example). They are listed in the readmes and I beleive most of them are free downloads.

plug-in to dp5
test drove it for a moment today and all seems to be fine, though i will need more time to verify that. it'll be interesting to see how it all interfaces with my mackie onyx 1640 and/or the motu ultralite.
thanks to you all for responding.
