Interesting--
Not much buzz coming from WDCC, eh?
The 8-Core is fine, really-- it's just the internal architecture that does little more than than the Quads. I sure hope the next gen has better specs under the hood-- and that the Intel bug codes get ironed out a bit better.
Some are more bent on iPhone in two weeks, but I'm not liking some of what I'm hearing:
1. $500-600? Sure, The Razr was sort of in that range when it first appeared, but they are being given way for free in some cases-- $30-40 bucks in other cases. I doubt anyone will be giving away an iPhone.
2. There was something fishy about the name Cingular being tossed around so freely when it was already known that AT&T was going to squat on Cingular's forehead.
3. Fine print about contract requirements and service provider exclusivity seem rather beneath Apple's general approach. Such fine print, once included in ads, has been carefully hidden (or removed) in favor of even finer print.
4. And this:
(sorry-- wrong number!)
In the meantime, it will be another 4 months before we learn anything of any significance regarding how the new OS will really have an impact on DAW work... and will perhaps be considerably longer than that before we actually see it in action.
OS Tabby, anyone?
