This happens from time to time, and it's driving me crazy.
Typically when I hilight a soundbite in the soundbite menu, I hear the sound playback automatically. For some reason this is not happening.
Similarly, when I double click and hilight a section of audio in the sequence window, the sound also plays back the hilighted section automatically. Again, this isn't working.
Audible mode is ON, and I can here the tracks playback when I start the sequence, just not when I try to audition.
Please help.
Thanks

Thanks a million,
Those pesky audio bundles. I'm using a 2408 mkIII, and I just started working in 5.1. I had the "Stereo" bundle on top, which is set to Analog 1-2 (and is not plugged in), but my 5.1 speakers are connected Analog 3-8.
Another thing though. I just noticed that when I ONLY have 1 bundle Analog 3-8 (5.1) active, it plays out bus 1-2 which is set to go through a reverb in my project.
When I create an additional bundle (stereo) and choose output 3-4, it plays normally. I guess I still don't understand the routing of the 2408. Why are the 'main outs' going through a bus? And if I have effects on bus 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, won't the auditioning audio always go through some effect or another? How do I tell it which bus to go through. Or does it default to 1-2 only?
thanks

You can set up your studio any way you want of course, but the typical setup would be for your 5.1 monitoring to come from interface outputs 1-6 in the SMPTE standard 1=L, 2=R, 3=C, 4=Lf, 5=Ls, 6=Rs. This way you can share your stereo outputs with your 5.1.Those pesky audio bundles. I'm using a 2408 mkIII, and I just started working in 5.1.
