MIDI system has crashed with new security update

Post by guitarbth »

Hi all,
I downloaded the new security update and after restart I tried opening Digital Performer and got a message saying that the MIDI system has crashed, try closing all other programs using MIDI and try again. There are no other programs using MIDI. I restarted the machine and still the problem persists. Here's my setup:

ibook G4
OSX 10.3.9
Digital Performer 4.6
M-Audio Firewire Solo

I tried redownloading the OSX 10.3.9 update with combined security update and no help. Anyone got any suggestions?

Okay... fixed it. Here's what worked for me: Unistalled driver for the Firewire Solo and reinstalled. I aslo downloaded the MOTU MIDI usb update. I don't have any usb devices, but many have had luck with this when "MIDI system has crashed," based on a search I did on unicornation. Anyhow, everyhting seems to be functioning properly now. Whew.. that was scary. Apple wanted $49 for a one time troubleshoot... dont think so.
