Hi there,

I don't want you to choose a control surface for me, but apart from the well known Mackie, Yamaha or the already dead US-2400, I would like to hear about some others ?
With sensitive fader, motorised fader, good quality gear...Lower price than a mackie

If there isn't anything else interesting, my choice will be a mackie control.
I work under win2000pro, samplitude and 2 Motu 896HD.

The new Mackie Control Universal Pros look pretty slick, if you default to a Mackie I'd suggest waiting until they become available (nobody has them in stock, not really released yet I suppose). Other than that most of the decent ones out right now all include audio interfaces as well (which it looks like you don't need).

I really don't need it :evil:

That's the reason why Tascam US-2400 would have been the best, but it seems it doesn't work very well...and is no longer made or available.
And behringer with its BCF 2000 is still Behringer ! Noisy bad quality faders, no sensitive touch...(I got one, I know what I'm talkin' about) it's a good beginning but it's not enough for a professionnal use.

Wouldn't it be good if M-Audio would release a version of the project mix that just had the control surface and NOT the not-very-good audio interface. And USB instead of FW.

I just took delivery on an Alpha Track... although it takes a single channel approach, which may be less than desireable for you, it seems to interface with DP nicely. Only issue so far: DP drops out of touch-recording in touch mode when the fader is held stationary for any length of time. I'll be working with it more, in the context of mixing, and we'll see how it pans (and fades) out. :)

I didn't know "alphatrack". As you said, what I need is a 8 tracks minimum... :wink:
