828 mkII & iChat. Stop working accordingly

Post by D_Gordon »

Hello All.

I'm very intrigued with a problem using iChat with my 828 mkII.

It used to work perfectly for an year.

I don't know why (maybe after some OSX or MOTU drivers updates...or something else), since few weeks ago, I cannot see the telephone icon on my buddies names, or even the telephone icon on my iChat icon.
So, I cannot call anybody to make an audio chat.
(I tried with a friend of mine calling me and it worked).

Anybody experiencing this kind of bizarre and unexpected problem?

Other than that I don't have any problem with my 828. Works perfectly in Logic, Garage Band, playing iTunes music and OSX sounds.

Go figure.
:?:
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Gordon

I hadn't tried it recently, but a while back when there were various software updates from apple, the 828 no would not work with iChat. I think it was an update to iChat that was the culprit, but I don't recall for sure.

But I just tried it again for the first time in a long while, and it appears to be working, although I have actually tried to have a conversation with anyone yet.

Thanks for answering, but unfortunately it's not working accordingly here.

It works if somebody call me.
Although I have to tell this person that I'm available for audio chatting, because as I said, my buddies cannot see the telephone icon showing I'm available for audio chat, and I cannot see theirs.

Let's hope OSX 10.4.9 fix that or maybe some MOTU driver update.

That situation is annoying.

Thanks for the idea but I move the iSight plug-in out of the HAL plug-ins folder and still didn't work.
And I don't have an iSight anyway...

Very strange. It used to work perfectly.

I really don't know what to do.

Maybe I'll have to buy an iSight on eBay.

:)

Any other thoughts?
