I just bought a used ibook under the understanding that it needed a new screen (It was only $40). Well I got it home and turned it on and I could hear it start up. Then I tried to hook it up to a seperate monitor with an adapter and that didn't work.
As far as I can tell, from looking up it's serial #, it seems to be a g3 700mhz with a combo drive (although fully legit, the person was not really sure what she had). Is it possible that the graphics card is blown? I know that the person I got it from had just bought a new power adapter (the 65w one) previous to the screen burning out. Could the newer adapter have zapped the graphics card or screen?
I'm just trying to figure out my next step in figuring this thing out.
Thanks -AE
