Audio buzz from 20"Cinema Display

Post by arsis »

Anybody else getting hum into their sytem from their Cinema Display. At first I thought it was inducing from the cpu itself. Nope turn off the monitor and it goes away. I've moved the monitor and cable as far as is reasonable from my system but no change. Next I'll try putting the cpu in the middle of room. Maybe it's coming from the video card. It's getting to the stereo buss of my console. I looked into getting an extention but holy freakin' crap their expensive! A 10' extension "kit" is $259  . I'll keep digging and lifting grounds etc. but I just wanted to see if I was alone with this problem. It sucks because my cpu and monitor are in the most logical locations. It's not getting into the reocrdings. I checked my buss matrix and i mix in the box so it's won't be getting to final mix. It's just an annoyance.

I discovered that I had to route all the AC from anything audio-related (mixer, interface, MIDI, outboard instruments, near-fields) through a different AC source from the computer, hard drives, and display. Really good line conditioning and grounding had to be double checked as well.

Not sure if that would help...
