Ultralite: audio drop outs

Hello,
i recently purchased a new Ultralite. I am running the MOTU with a G4 powerbook. 1.3 Ghz / 1.25 gb RAM.
I am having an audio drop out issue. While recording, I do not hear any audible drop outs or clicks or pops. But when i play back, there is a half beat of silence across the board, on all tracks. not sure what can be causing this. Checking the waveforms, i see the silence recorded.

Is this a clocking issue? I have done tests with the clock set to internal, spdif (locked to a Rosetta), and still have the smae problem.

has this happened to anyone else?
