How about 8 cores - in January?

Post by auptown »

I just saw this tantalizing item on macrumors.com:

"MacScoop/MacOSXRumors believes that an 8-core Mac Pro is currently on track for a January release. "

Makes me look with scorn on my lowly dual G5.
MacPro 2x2.66, 5G ram, 1 SATA, 2 raptors, 2408 mk3, MOTU HD192, Mackie MCU
Dual 2.0g G5, 7g ram, 1 SATA drive, 1 IDE drive, Duende, Liquid Mix, UAD-1,
OS X 10.4.11, DP 5.13, MOTU 2408mk3, BFD, RMX, Atmosphere, EWQLSO Gold XP, Ethno, Grace m906, Blue Sky 5.1 monitors
MacBook Pro 2.13 3G ram, ext FW drive

I've been hoping, as y'all may have noted in recent posts... it makes so much sense for Apple. Shooshie: For all you do, this Mac's for you!

Yes-- it would not only make sense of Apple, it would make sense for certain ones of us who could put 8 cores to good use

From a discussion that started back in Sept:

And, speaking of this being "a good idea for Apple", I think Apple may have some good ideas of its own for 2007!
