dragging markers (DP 4.6)
Hi, new to DP and to this forum. The manual says one can drag markers around, but in the sequence editor I've found the only way to do this is by opening the conductor track. Ok, but when you start really zooming in the marker in the conductor track disappears. This seems so elemental to editing- but I can't figure out the one dumb step I'm missing. Thanks for any help out there:)

markers can be dragged in the tracks overview window or by opening the MARKERS window and inputing the correct numeric value for where you want the markers to be

Re: dragging markers (DP 4.6)
The markers disappearing in the SE conducter track is new, I believe new with 4.6. But yes, you must open the conductor track in the SE window to "drag" them. Prior to a few weeks ago, I don't ever remember markers not being visible in the conductor track.
Much better is the way it is implemented in Pro Tools, where all you have to do is just grab it and drag it. No special track to open. Double-click on it, and you can rename it. Wanna delete a marker? Just drag it downwards (out of the ruler), and a trash can icon appears. Let go of it, and it's deleted. Nice and simple.

Yes, but there's no precision in the track window. I like to use markers to create range selections and want to zoom in very close. I'm new to DP but have used Wavelab for years where you could zoom in to the point of one pixel= one sample and drag markers at that level (overkill, I know, but sometimes necessary before without auto crossfade).Originally posted by Wayne:

It doesn't disappear for me when I move around markers in the conductor track.
Im able to zoom right down to sample level with no problem.

Yeah, having to open the conductor track to rename/edit markers when in the SE is annoying and just doesn't make sense to me - I want to be able to do that in the marker strip. I'll submit this one to the suggestion box.

My point exactly. That is how it is in PT.
