Does anyone know if the first generation pci-424 card is compatible with
CueMix. Currently, I have a PCI-324 card running with DP 5.1 (os x) and I can't run cuemix. I don't want to fork out 300 $ for the PCIX-424 ... would prefer to find a used PCI-424 first generation
thanks!

Hi
Yes, the 424 (original) was where the realtime DSP mix thing started. That's the version I have. I'm not sure how much I would invest in that particular version. I think that card was thrown together with the intention of it soon being replaced (maybe sort of a prototype). Either that, or they just took the opportunity when the X version was made to fix a few things that they screwed up. Unfortunately, it's hard to say just how likely you'd be to hit any of its "incompatibilities", as it was never made all that clear what exactly they were. Mine's done OK, but my hosts aren't all that new (AthlonXP generation). I've also heard people mention the X being more efficient and less of a load.
Good luck,
George
