DP Crashes in Tiger

I upgraded from a dual 867 to a dual 2.0 but kept the dual 867 machine, upgrading it to tiger.
well, I had someone in my studio yesterday that wanted to do some work in DP so I set him up in the dual 867. well, I didn't realize it but DP in this machine opens a project fine but then carshes everytime when you press play in DP! I already repaired permissions and re-installed DP 4.5 to no avail. Any ideas?

I think that problem happened with non 4.52 versions of DP like 4.51 operating in Tiger. Maybe you need to upgrade DP again.

If you need some help I can maybe get you going as I'm finally feeling better.

I will update my dual 867 to 4.52, see what happens- 4.5 is just not working in this mach and tiger

i still haven't upgraded to DP 4.5, so i haven't been enjoying the challenges you guys have.

anyway, the reason i'm replying is to say that i listened to the stuff on your link through a pair of roland micromonitors attached to my computer at work and it sounds really good.

really warm and full, guitars are nicely panned and the whole mix is where it should be.

I had a similar problem and am on DP4.52. Could open and play in Tiger, but I couldn't shut DP. I would just get the famous beach Ball. Have to do a Force quite. I just went back to 10.3.9

I'll try again with the nerw updates of 10.42 and the UAD-1

thanks dude! I'm glad you liked it- the stuff hasn't been mastered yet (other than home DP style, that is) but I was happy how it came out.

by the way, you should upgrade to 4.52/tiger. then you would not feel lonely

actually, I upgraded when I got my G5 over a month ago and still don't have everything up and running right....

Yeah, just ran into the same problem, although I am using Tiger and 4.52. The weird ting though is that DP was working fine after the 4.52 upgrade, but after a recent session, where I was playing around with some drum loops, it started bailing every time I ht the play button.

If anyone has any ideas, I'm all ears too...

Take DP off and reinstall it.

DP4.5 is not supported in Tiger at all.
It has to be 4.52 (according to Motu)

What I found on my nightmare install is this. FXexpansions .vst caused mega conflicts, also the plugin cheese machine.

So I removed the cheese machine plugin. Then went to the FXexpansions program and told it to remove all .vst plugins.

Do not remove the FXexpansions program. That will bring you all new headaches; Hope my downfall will save some of you from 3 hrs of headaches and frustrations that I got.

Just a followup on my post - indeed, I was running the wrong version of DP. My Dock still had a link to 4.5. Once I realized my error, and launched 4.52, all was well.

i ran into same problem last night after installing tiger i had to reinstall dp 4.52 and all is good now
