iChat AV with output PCI-424 > No sound.

Post by c0mp0ser »

Hello, I hope this is the right forum to post this issue in.

I am having an issue with iChat AV videochat output working when it is set to PCI-424. It works if set to internal speaker.

Any insight?

I have a G4 dual, running latest version of Tiger and latest MOTU drivers.

I don't know if this is still an issue with iSight... It was a known issue that it defaulted to a buffer of 768 thus making all your audio default to this setting. It may be that iSight/iChat doesn't play nice with "other" audio devices.

Because of this issue I always unplug my camera when working with other audio programs.

You might try routing your audio using a program like Jack OS X or Soundflower.

thanks drvmusic

I will check out those audio routing programs you mentioned.

Just a strange problem, because nearly everyone i know with motu hardware cannot get their iChat / iSight audio to come out of the studio monitors....
